BUT that nitpick aside the overall narrative of their headstrong assertive nature as women is a good message for girls. The movie is so moving, so involved with and interested in the natural world and spirituality. It's also interesting that San does not end up with Ashitaka, and the Forest Spirit is successfully shot.
