“A little over a year ago, Nintendo and Dark Horse released the much-anticipated Hyrule Historia: an official encyclopedia-like compendium of information about The Legend of Zelda video game series as part of the continued celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the series. The astonishingly beautiful book has official artwork of characters and setting of each and every single one of the main Legend of Zelda games, information about the story of each game, the mythology and history of the land of Hyrule, the official (and previously much-debated) timeline of the series, and a prequel comic for the latest main-console Zelda game, Skyward Sword. This is my third time reading it since I bought it over a year ago and every time I open it, I fall in love all over again. The richness of the world of Zelda is presented beautifully and in detail in this book, and it is quite the experience to see how your favorite game was made and to delve even deeper into the mysteries of this fascinating world. I cannot recommend it enough to fans of the series, and even to people remotely interrsted in the world of The Legend of Zelda and the beauty, mystery and complexity that has enthralled gamers for more than 25 years and many more to come. ”

“Page 621. I have made it thus far, fair friends. I don’t know if I’ll make it through the harsh winter, there are still over 400 pages left. The trek will be long. Provisions may not last. We’re taking on more mouths to feed and there aren’t enough men to fight for Meereen! SHIT’S GETTING SO REAL AND I CAN’T HANDLE A DANCE WITH DRAGONS. I’m finally back into the swing of school, and trying to finish a 1,000 page book is probably not a good idea. But, as usual, Mr. Martin has a way of keeping us engaged in the intertwined lives in the Seven Kingdoms and the Free Cities, so much so that we stay up later than we’re supposed to in order to get to the next chapter. ”

“If you’re into cry-fest anime, you’ve got to check out Kyoukai no Kanata (Eng. Beyond the Boundary), recommended to me by not one, but two different friends. Following the story of a half-youmu and half-human boy named Akihito and a Spirit World Warrior named Mirai, Kyoukai no Kanata is an action-adventure story about saving the world as well as a teen drama about loneliness, friendship, and love. This is a beautifully animated series, and with just 12 episodes, not too much of a time commitment. Unless you count all the awful tears I had for about an hour after finishing the show.”
