No reading required for August!
For the School Days issue, we’re talking about our favorite science fiction and/or fantasy novels from high school!
I’m probably bringing Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones because it introduced me to her amazing writing and the multi-faceted character of Sophie, a quiet, insecure girl who discovers her strengths as well as her true self. Hayao Miyazaki based his film of the same name on this book, though the two are different in many ways (and both are amazing).
Join the GiC Book Club in person at Main Point Books in Bryn Mawr, PA for our book club discussion on Saturday, August 29th at 5 p.m. Find our group on Meetup here.
Can’t make it to the meeting? Tell us in the comments your favorite sci-fi/fantasy novel you read in high school!
